Browar Pustynny
Craft beer labels where the illustration takes centre stage.
Sector:
Craft beer
Scope:
Illustration, Labels, Typography, Print production
I designed beer labels for Browar Pustynny, from the brief to the print files. Each beer got its own illustration, and all the labels share one layout, so it is clear right away that they belong to one series.

Czerwone Niebo
American Red Ale. The label shows exactly what the name says: a red sky over the Katowice steelworks, seen at sunset from the Błędów Desert. I drew the silhouette of the steelworks against orange and red clouds, with the pale desert sand below. The sky colours run across the whole label, including the part with the description and beer details.

Przylaszczka
Australian Rye Ale. Here the illustration is a portrait: a woman whose hair is made of blue liverleaf flowers. The background is calm, in shades of green and white, so the flowers are the strongest colour on the bottle.

The outcome
Both labels share the same structure: the beer name in the same typeface, the beer style next to it, the brewery logo always in the same place, and the description and details on the other part of the label. The illustration is different every time, so each beer has its own character, but together they look like one series that is easy to extend with new flavours.
